If your garage door receiver unit uses rolling codes, then you will need to first program your car's transmitter following the directions.

After that, you'll need to add this new transmitter (your car) to the garage door receiver unit following the manufacturer's directions.

I have done that - I pressed the "learn" button on the motor mounted to the ceiling - then it gave me 30 seconds to program buttons 1-2 or3 - which i tried with both 1 and 2 -= 6 times. However, it did not work. So I was wondering what I was missing?

thanks

You have to make your car's transmitter "memorize" the code from one of your working garage door openers first. I'm not sure if you completed that step.

Also, you should only program 1 button (you mentioned trying both buttons 1 and 2) first, and then do the same step for your other buttons with a different motor after you've got the first one working properly.

yeah i think first you need to use the remote to promote one of the bottons first. then you go to the opener and press the learn button and then press on the programmed button again and it should sync up

well you should post this in the site suggetion or help (supposedly). but quickly
1) edit is to edit the post you are reading. quote is to make a new post but quote the post you reading
2) driver school candidate means you have less than certain number of posts, i forgot how many. as you post more your title will change.... don't ask me what title i am at.....

Two suggestions:

1) If you are programming your homelink with a smaller keychain sized remote- DON'T -it won't work. If it does you are gifted.

2) After you press the learn button on the motor (head unit) press the homelink button for a 2 count, then release for 1, then a 2 count, then release for 1 then again for a 2 count and release. It should open. If not call homelink.

My 05 gave me fits until I did these two things. (Genie Excelerator opener)
