few lexus in beijing
Hey guys,
Im currently in Beijing now...
Amazing place .... lots of interesting things and lots of nice cars too, except I only saw 3 Lexuses so far.
Saw 2 LS430 and 1 RX300.
I saw plenty of Audis, VW and BMW ... plenty of Mercedes, and most are S500 or S600 too !!
Thats it ... is Lexus doing anything in the China market? Those guys should be here!!
No marketing effort or whatsoever.. no ads...
And also, I wish I can drive here. The roads here are wide and smooth. Roads near the central business district is at least 5 lanes each way .... very wide, enough to land a 747 jet.
If driving outside the city, there's no cops with radar guns, only miles and miles of smooth, newly built road.

Lexus isn't very popular in China for several reasons.
1) Most people still associate only BMW and Benz as high class vehicles. What we call "Double B".
2) Lexus is made by Japan. Some people still have the grudge againest Japanese due to the history.
Regardless, my uncle just picked up a LS430 3 months ago.
