does this work with the treo 650? I am considering an infiniti m45 next month but now I am considering leasing an 04 ls430 if the bluetooth and 4th gen nav system are available for it. the golden opportunity event is supposed to occur in august so I am thinking I may get a good deal leasing an 04 and trading my 01 UL. I dont use the rear seat crap so I wont miss it. I must because of my gadget addiction have the bluetooth and XM that are integrated into the 04 and later since this would be something I would not miss out on with the new m45. I think the ls 430 is a more luxurious car and I love mine but I am tired of the vaistech hack and also my black interior. its just too dreary. do you think this quest is realistic?
I have an '04 LS and recently switched my phone service from Cingular to Verizon. I was looking at both the Motorola V710 and the Treo 650 as options. I was told by the Verizon rep. (as well as Verizon Customer Service) that both phones would work with the Lexus but the problem would be in transferring the phone book from the phone to the car. This was not an issue for me since I had already transferred any numbers I would call from my Sony Ericson phone when I had the Cingula service.
I opted for the V710 and it works fine with the Lexus Bluetooth system. I would call Lexus Customer Service as well as that for the carrier you will be using to get their input. In addition, check with Let's Talk For Lexus to get more information.
Good Luck! The '04 is a great car and the Bluetooth system, while not perfect, works very well.
My wife just got a new GSM Treo 650 from Cingular, and it works fine with the Lexus bluetooth
system in her RX330.. The only feature that does not work is the phone will not ring thru the car speaker.Do a search of these forums and you will see info on how to set up the Treo 650. You must download and install the carkit patch from the Palm One internet site. The Treo 650 like the Sony phones will allow you to transfer your entire phone book at one time. This sure beats having to transfer it one entry at a time like my Nokia 6230. It took me hours to transfer my phone book from my Nokia to my LS430 . I transferred her entire phone book in less than 5 seconds! Note: the Palm One internet site says that the Treo 650 will not work with the Lexus bluetooth system, but it works fine.
