The ride on my 04 Ultra can't be right. These cars are supposed to give a good ride aren't they? I get a smoother ride in my Corvette when it's in sports mode! Left for my first real drive today and had to pull over. Thought maybe the Adaptive Variable Air Suspension hadn't set it self up. (This time there's no parking brake set, the rides not set for high and its not in sports mode and I checked the tire pressure. ) After I took off the second time it was better but when I stopped again and then started back up it was back to a bad ride. The car has a bounce to it. Almost enough to make you nauseas. No warning lights saying something is wrong. Can't take it to the local Toyota dealer again, I doubt if they've ever worked on one with the air suspension. My nearest Lexus dealer is two states away. ANYONE WITH AN ULTRA ever experience something like this. How does your Lexus ride???
I'm not the most technical person here but you might want to try disconnecting the battery cables on the car. You will have to reset radio presets, etc. but it might be worth the effort. My car before was an '03 Mercedes E500. As some of you know, that year had lot's of electronic glitches and a common "repair" for some of those was to "reset" everything via the battery disconnect.
It could be a sensor going bad somewhere. I would think a Toyota dealership could at least scan for trouble codes if the computer is spitting those out. That's quite a drive you hvae there to get to your dealer!! Good Luck!

That's worth a shot. Unfortunately the problem isn't constant. When I had the problem the other day and took it in to the Toyota guys, it wasn't acting up!
