Default Bluetooth Phone Microphone

Anyone having trouble with folks saying they are having difficulty understanding you when you are using the handsfree Bluetooth function? I can hear folks just fine but many are telling me that I am coming in broken and distorted. I'm using a Blackberry 7520 and have zero issues when using it directly or with a Bluetooth earpiece/mic. Suggestions?

Have you spoken 'up' at the microphone itself? (Located above next to sunroof controls).

If not, you can adjust the Bluetooth microphone sound levels up:

See here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=152256&page=4

Dr. Computer's post shows you how to do it.

I've done the "up-speak" and not much better. This is helpful, thanks much, I will give it a try next time I have a few minutes.

I have had the same comments when I make calls from the phone in the car. My wife has basically told me to stop calling her on that phone and use my Nextel that is not Bluetooth.

I've sent myself voice mail messages to my work number from the car to see how it sounds, and I must say it is not great.

OK, gave it the college try at lunch today and it has improved a bit using that solution but still not as good as regular from the phone. Will try again tonight if I have time and see what occurs. The instructions are not totally accurate for the '04 LS so will go slower when I do it and do some editing for future use.

Did you guys have any luck getting into that service mode? I got there but when I hit the button for telephone options I did not see any microphone adjustment or similar. I may just have the dealer adjust it on my next oil change. Thanks!!

I did the first time and just didn't have time to play with it last night. I will record my steps closely this next time I do it and post a revision specific to the '04 LS430 which I have.

Thanks Aggie - I hope there's a way to increase the mic sensitivity on our cars. It seems that road noise above 55 mph makes it hard for the people on the other end to hear my voice. And I have a loud voice!
