Come on guys, good Question . I have had the same thoughts. Just wanted to make sure it looked stock not added or cheap. I have 04 sport 3600 miles and I almost bought the 2003 and saved a bundle. I waited almost one year for the 2004 and just wanted the newest model for my first Lexus. Heck I waited all my life to be able to buy what I wanted without regard to the price so i did. Maybe next time it will be different who knows.
The Megs line of tips, especially the "Slick" version (http://www.coneeng.com/megs/slick.htm) are very high quality and worth investigating. Only concern is fitment over the stock exhaust pipe - I haven't checked the diameter.
Aftermarket tips on the '04 LS are not to my personal taste (I like the subtle, completely stock look), but to each his own.
The '04 is OK but I definitely like the smoother, rounded, more understated design of my '03 better. What I do like about the '04 is the LED taillights and the exposed, chrome exhaust tips. Which brings me to the question : have any of you added chrome tips to an '01-'03 LS? I talking about something like the understated, factory-style tips not the huge phallic symbol style. Here is a picture of an '03 that was for sale on ebay that looks as if someone added GS tips to it.
Originally posted by RajaReMax Has anyone replaced the chrome tips on the '04 LS with longer, more visible ones? If so, please post pics & cost/ordering information. Thank you.
Even though I have a 2nd gen LS,I put these on and had to cut the plastic bumper for them to be exposed, you can also do this on yours, just don't go too large or it will look funny........it took me awhile to find the right size.
Lexkost, I like what you did to your LS. Tasteful...not overdone.
PHML, do you have a non-closeup pic of those tips on your GS? I really like the style of those tips very much but judging from the tape measure I'm thinking they might be just a tad to fat for what I am looking for.
