Default Seat belt extenders

Has anyone on here had any success with getting a seat belt extender to fit the LS430?
I have tried a couple of so-called "universal" ones and whilst I got one to fit on the end of the belt, it wouldn't latch into the buckle.
The other "universal" one wouldn't latch at either end.

Yes, I know I need to lose some (a LOT of) weight but that's not as easy as it sounds when you have lower back issues. <sigh>
I can currently still latch the belt, but it's a struggle and the belt is fully extended.
For now I have reclined the driver seat a bit more as with the seat already all the way back it's the only way to make it easier.

Hi Big Boomer.

I sympathize.

I use 2 x extenders with my current car, a 2004 Mitsubishi Magna, and have been doing so for about 8 years without any problems, other than steering wheel clearance(height only, no reach).

It was about the only generally available car on the Australian market that would fit me.

I started with one, then purchased a second, which is now a semi-suitable arrangement.

These were purchased off Ebay, so I would consider them "universal".

No roadworthiness objections to this setup have been expressed at the annual safety inspections.

As far as I know, an LS 460 is going to provide me with more flexibility(read: more space) in this respect.

I am still trying to find the right car in the limited Australian market, hopefully needing to look for not much longer.

EDIT: Doing a new search has resulted in a lack of results of the type of extenders that I had purchased previously.

The only sort available now on Ebay are the "Airline" type of buckle.

I don't consider this type to be as useful.

EDIT ii: A general non Ebay search shows the type that I did originally purchase:

Edit iii: I finally found the type I originally purchased on Ebay:

They are useful not only for overweight drivers.

I purchased a second set to help with my mother's(R.I.P @ 100 years old 2/2025) arthritic hands.

It made it easier for her to buckle up without me needing to help.

Independence is very important for older people.

P.S. I have absolutely no back problems, surprisingly.

My issue(s) are both knees are shot.

Thanks Leadfoot, but that doesn't help with my problem.

The LS430 uses a seatbelt tongue shape that is quite different from the Mitsubishi one, so "universal" buckles don't work.
The cut-out in the tongue is a "shield" shape rather than a rectangle.
I was hoping someone out there could confirm that a particular extender worked for them, rather than me wasting more time and money.

Thank you for the information/image.

The 430 has a buckle/tongue type that I have not seen before.
