Suggestions for replacing Mark Levinson subwoofer?
Edit: I guess I didn’t give a size on the enclosure, it’s the trunk. The trunk is the enclosure, with a vented/padded baffle for better response.

No it isn't blown. The foam support for the cone has torn, which is why at low volume it sounds fine, but at high volume it sounds distorted with a rasping sound.
If it was blown you would get no sound out of it at all.
That is why people are quoting you for the foam.
If you can fix it with a re-foam, the OEM Sub is the best for the ML system.
If you can't then there are a few options (mine has the DaytonAudio 8+8) but you need to be careful not to fit a low impedance Sub (below 8ohms) because that will blow your amp.
My OEM Sub was blown, as the wire from the cone to the voice coil had broken where I couldn't repair it.

Yes so long as the voice coil is not open which was the case in Boomer's where wire came off. Your problem sounds exactly like the foam is disintegrated and can be repaired cheap.

Just pop the cover off the sub (it levers off with plastic trim tools) and take a look. There will be tears in the edge of the cone where it joins the frame of the sub.
Easy enough to DIY repair, but getting it out can be awkward. There are DIYs posted on the forum that show it all step by step.
If you want to replace the sub, it's your choice, but you will not get as good a sound balance as the OE Sub.
The Dayton 8+8 is close but not an exact match.
