Need help. Ls430 code p111 & p0761.
Hello. About a week ago my Son's 2006, 100,000 mile, LS430's SES light came on. It has Code P1111 & P0761.. When I bought said LS430, about 2 years ago, Carfax showed that the services performed by Lexus dealers, included Trans Fluid & Filter changes, every 40,000 miles or so. Also, 2 years ago, I drained the Trans Fluid , and installed new LEXUS fluid &Filter. I followed the specific fluid level setting procedure. I am in S Utah and my son is in N Ca. I am trying to remotely help solve this problem. As far as I know the car is operating correctly.
I am inclined to SUSPECT an ECM (ECU) problem, as I do not think the engine and transmission simultaneously developed malfunctions. I am considering have my son send the ECU out for repair, possibly SIA Electronics.
NOTE A months ago, the TPMS light came on, even though the tire PSI was correct. I DO NOT think the TPMS issue is related, because when one tire went down to about 20 PSI, the TPMS light did NOT activate. My son has not tried the TPMS reset, because he dose not drive the required 1 hour reset drive. .
"What say you"
Thank you, Mike Celi

Thanks for reminding me as I had bought car over 20 years ago and forgot it doesn't use valve stem sensors especially since there is a reset.
Anyone else?
I am considering having my son pull the ECU and ship it out for "Repair". This based on an older, more active Thread on this subject, I might have to jump into. This with overnight shipping, both ways, the repair cost and renting a car for 7 days or so, will be a $ 600 gamble. The LS430 is 800 mile from me and my shop. I do not know any suitable shops in N Ca. Thank you, Mike

Something isn’t adding up here.
P111 is typically MAF related.
P0761 is specific to faulty and/or stuck shift solenoid C.
Inspecting and potentially “repairing” the ECU will not fix a faulty MAF sensor, or repair a bad shift solenoid.
Who pulled the codes P111 and P0761?

Hi Bradland. My son pulled P1111 and 0761 using his OBD2 scanner . I am checking now if there are any other symptoms/ Thanks

Or even better a Toyota dealer but that would likely cost $$$…
Maybe disconnect the battery for 10 to 15 min before he goes.
A CEL means a code has been generated and is usually accompanied by a Check VSC light.
Service reminders are not a notification of a problem; they are based on time and/or mileage.
It's just telling you the computer thinks you should change your oil or bring the car to a dealer for the 50,000 mile service (example).
Is it a CEL (check engine light) or a service notification?

I know that when my trans did the hard downshifft 2-1 and 3-2, it threw a P0756, which is the same as P0761, except it said solenoid B. Sending the ECU out absolutely fixed the issue. But rather than go by the trouble code, imho the symptom may be more indicative based on what I've read. Not everyone got a code. But everyone got the hard 2-1 downshift, and 3-2. I'd send the ECU out if it has the hard downshift.
Do you have any symptoms, or is it the code that's bothersome. Because it never came back for me, despite the symptoms not going away. So in this case, I would only be concerned with the symptoms. If there's a hard downshift, send it out. If there are no symptoms and the code won't clear, don't send it out. That's how I'd look at it. I too have down 5 drain/fills since 81k so I felt a trans problem is quite unexpected at 155k.

Last night it only had P1111, yes P1111. So far no symptoms. My son reset the oil change light and cleared the codes, but only drove one mile
I’ll advise tomorrow after he drives it some more.
I again wish to thank those who replied, we appreciate it!

So I finally heard from our son, who keeps very busy with his career !
After resetting the Oil Change Due reminder, NO warning lights are on and the LS430 is driving just fine! So much for remote diagnosis!
THANK YOU all who responded to HELP! The members here make owning and / or driving Lexus automobiles a breeze! Mike C.
