Default QuickJack 20% Off One Day Sale

Anyone use a QuickJack on their LS430? Was thinking of getting one if it would work on both the LS430 and Pontiac G8. I know the LS430 seems to be a tight fit for the lifting pucks at the pinch welds.

I hope someone responds, what model do you think would be best or the LS430?

I bought the 8000 TL for the Christmas sale. it works AWESOME for my various vehicles. Consider the TLX in order to be able to reach the 4 corner hardened points. I use pinch weld blocks with the QJ 8000 and it works great. If you can - do order the bundle with the blocks, hangars, and SUV extensions If you have other taller vehicles. Its a game changer tool.

I'll probably go with the 6000TLX bundle... The RR pinch weld on the LS was bent up some, I did straighten it out so a pinch weld puck slips over it. It seems that the edge of the plastic rocker molding will be inside the pinch weld puck though which I'm not thrilled about as there doesn't seem to be much room around the pinch weld itself. I do see the hardened points in front of the rear tires but not seeing where they are at the front. It does seem the TL at 60" max lift point spread is just barely long enough to reach the pinch welds as I measured them right at 59" inside to 68" outside. The Pontiac is a little shorter (56" - 64") but is also much lower. I can leave the QJ centered on the floor under the LS430 but probably won't fit under the G8. The bundle comes with the wall hooks but not sure how easily I would be able to maneuver them in place.

I understand that. My other car is my Z4 (the red one in the pic) and it sits low.. and obviously the wheelbase is shorter. The 8000TL is perfect for the Z4 and lifting the LS430 - I slide the lift a little more toward the front of the car to support the more frontal weight still using the pinch weld points. I have had it up 3-4 times. no issues and it is rock solid on the lift. I even use the lift to detail the car so I can sit down on a roller chair and wax and buff as I go. no bending over all day. .
I bought the 8000 version to also lift my full size truck and medium SUVs in the family

Did you get additional pinch weld blocks as the 8000 models (even the bundle) show flat (or dimpled) blocks. I assume you don't have issues with the LS430 pinch weld blocks going around the plastic side skirt molding? Previously when I jacked the car up using rubber pinch weld blocks I could see a little pressure being applied on the side skirts but was put on jack stands once high enough. When raising the car to remove the jack stands one of the plastic rivets holding the side skirt snapped off so I must have had excessive pressure on the side skirt. There wasn't any damage to the side skirt and I replaced the plastic rivet... just a little leary of the pinch weld access on the LS430. I have both the hockey puck style and metal aluminum style with a narrow slot for the pinch weld but that is too thick to fit between the pinch weld and side skirt.

Yes you do have to be careful about where they go. I bought some thick rubber blocks separately that have the channel in them. It seems to do the job nicely without any damage. The flat blocks that come with the kit would be damaged over a short time with the pitch weld 'cutting' its groove in them. I don't recommend that. It does take a little time to get the hang of what and where to go with each vehicle - but that learning curve gets faster over time.

As far as mobility with the QJs - they are heavy. about 80lbs each. they do have small sturdy wheels on one end -- that makes it easy to roll around. its like driving a trailer around in the garage, wide turns..etc. haha

They slide fairly easy on a smooth concrete floor. The kit comes with a 'extension handle' to help pull and push laterally when almost in place. The biggest gotcha is getting your fingers pinched after you maneuver them around and sit them down on the floor... don't grip the QJ at the very end... grab them about 2-3 inches up the rack. That area doesn't meet the floor when you sit them down. you'll see. Just a new technique.
I love mine and can't wait to use them for more things this spring/summer

Could your QJ8000 or the 6000 be stored under the LS430 and drive over it when driving in and out of the garage? Like driving over a oil change pit. Not a lot of "extra" room in my garage.

I know a few people on the G8 and Corvette forums park over the QJ which are lower than a stock LS430 so car height isn't an issue. One person did mention the heat from the exhaust was a concern so they just park in the driveway for a short time to cool down before parking over the QJ.

My neighbor has something like this in his garage since he works on his Subaru and Mazda. I just never feel comfortable crawling under my car to do work. Maybe I am too old

Me too! I went with the 6000TLX bundle since that had the pinch weld pucks, weighs a little less and was less expensive. They did ship out mine already... 5 boxes scheduled for Thursday delivery. Make sure you get some hydraulic fluid as you need to supply that.

From their manual...
Q: How much and what type of Hydraulic Fluid do I need?
A: 2.1 Quarts (2 Liters) of any general-purpose ISO-32, ISO-46, or ISO-68 Hydraulic Fluid, approved Automatic Transmission Fluids such as Dexron VI, Mercon V, Mercon LV, or any synthetic multi-vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid.
