Talk about an esoteric problem. My 2005 LS 430 Ultra Luxury model has the rear cabin filter system that includes an Ultra violet bulb to purify the air along with that giant airfilter. But that bulb seems to be burnt out. Would anyone know the type of bulb used or its part number? Thanks!
Hmmm. I tried, but no idea. Not in the manual. How do you know it is out? The manual warns not to look "Do not look into the xenon tube in the air purifier through the filter slot and do not expose your skin directly to the light in the xenon tube also. Although the xenon tube scarcely issues less than 300nm ultraviolet rays which are thought harmful for the human body, some people may have symptoms such as eye sore, vision trouble, skin inflammation, etc."... I've alsom never changed my rear seat filters or the filter ib the rear a/c unit. But I use it fairly rarely.

Thanks for your response. You make a good point. I dont know if the bulb is out. I just figured that after 20 years Id change it. I can tell you that my rear filter was pretty dirty when I recently replaced it.
Thanks for the lead on this thread. It’s interesting, although not too much about that bulb. I think I’m going to just get into that unit and see if I can extract the existing bulb. How hard can it be?? Hahaha!
I wasn't aware that there was a rear evaporator on the LS430 ultra. Where do the AC lines run from the front to the rear evaporator? Regarding the rear air cabin filter, has a drop in filter been identified that can be swapped into the plastic frame or is the whole filter assembly with the plastic frame the way to go. Part number on the rear filter?
I saw what appears to be a rear evaporator in the parts diagram, lower left, 88501R. But I have never been under the car to look for AC lines. Sorry. The part number for the OEM rear air filter is 88508-50080. Photo attached. It comes with the plastic frame and is a drop in replacement.

Looks like it's part number 88508-30110 for the 2003 LS430 although the descriptions shows it fits a 2003 on the Bell Lexus site but not on Lexus parts now. It is on sale at Bell so I'll order 88508-30110 from them.
