Default Need help: CD player no sound and no error message

Hi,
I have an 04 with the Mark Levinson stereo. When you load a CD, it loads and then displays “track 1.” But it doesn’t play (no sound). There’s no error message. The radio and cassette player play just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting?
Thanks!
J

I have had the player jam up on occasion. Felt lucky when the discs eventually ejected on their own. Those may be rudimentary but: have you ejected all discs? then maybe load 2 or 3? could be an unreadable disc. Make sure a standard CD, not a ripped cd r/w etc. Try a couple of them. If the CD laser died, you will need a new unit I imagine. But worth playing with it first

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I tried pressing eject a few times to make sure no CDs are jammed in there (there aren’t), and I tried several CDs. No luck!

If you really need CDs (and I do, my XM antenna is failed) you can either add a CD2: I think there are inputs, but you'd have to install it. Or buy used on ebay. Probably easy for an auto sound store to install. I don't believe they are VIN locked. Or add a Grom or similar. The replacement Radio/CD .

Could just be a dirty lazer. A long time but think there are cleaning discs or could do manually. You can also have it repaired.

great idea about the cleaner disk—at least it’s a cheap option ($6 on Amazon) if it doesn’t work. Thanks!
