Hi guys when I engage cruise control it activates with a message radar ready in dash. When I try to engage the cruise I get check cruise control light flash with VSC. Plugged in a code reader and P011 come up. I tryed to look for the radar sensor see if it's dirty or broken in front bumper on the lower part cannot find it. Any help much appreciated. Was also told you can bypass the radar cruise to normal system pushing the stalk forward couple if seconds . I have attached a picture of my lower bar.
To the best of my knowledge, adaptive cruise in pre-2004 was laser cruise, not radar, despite the message in the dashboard. It has laser emitters on the bottom sides, 1 on each side? look it up, but I have a feeling whatever other problems the system has, you are looking for the wrong part. I think I remember seeing info in the owners manual about both in my 2005.
On my car you can bypass as you said. Must be before you ever turn on the radar cruise and get an error, or pcs/cruise error lights up until you restart car. I've done this when my check engine light went off, which disables adaptive cruise.
