Does anyone have any information on how to replace the original backup camera on the LS430? I removed the trunk liner and am stuck at this step. (Picture taken from an old thread on the Lexus Owners club forum.)
The only response on the thread says to squeeze the circled plastic clips with a pliers in order to remove the trim piece that partially covers the license plate lights and the trunk release button. I have been squeezing them very hard with pliers and have taken pry tools to the outside of the trunk but to no avail -- the trim piece seems stuck. Does anyone have any tips? Are there other cilps that I am missing? And does anyone have the part number for the trim piece, in case I break it?
No, there are also some other clips at each end as well as some screws.
You also need to remove the number plate lights.
Once you have that piece off it's just 2 screws to get the camera out.
