Seems like a saw a thread where someone took a board out of the ML headunit, kept that board plugged in and put it behind the new stereo or in the glovebox. I would love to know what was kept. Please let me know if you know.

I have been a member here since Jan 2003 and don't ever remember a thread on that. If you are replacing the Nav display screen the new unit should come with a canbus and that will operate the AC. Only problem I see with that on mine is I can't see the actual temperature I am trying to set it to. Adjustment up or down is still controlled by left and right temp buttons or go into the display and adjust. The upside I have is what looks like a factory installed 9 inch android system.

I know what you’re talking about so it’s a real thing. It’s here somewhere. I stumbled across it a couple times when planning out my audio.

SO I decided to be the guinea pig. Gutted the radio down to the bottom circuit board and everything works. So now I need to find the install facia that goes with the Beatsonic kit (ML with Navigation) and I am set.
