Without knowing the history the transmission fluid changes, the fluid might have built up enough varnish to keep the clutches of your transmission engaged. Once the new fluid is introduced after such a long period of time, it also introduces cleaning properties, that may remove the varnish and this may keep the clutches from engaging, causing slippage. If your transmission already has issues, of course you have no choice. If it's working fine, I wouldn't go there. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
Oxidized fluid does have more friction to it but if your transmission needs smoked fluid for the clutches to grab and not slip, it was on its last leg anyway. ATF also doesn't have much detergent in it (engine oil has about 20 times as much), it just seems so clean for so long because there are no combustion gasses in your transmission. Not to mention any varnish on the clutch packs is going to glaze them and make them slip like an overheated clutch/flywheel.
And this isn't a 4L60 or a E4OD that starts eating itself after 150k mile without a fluid exchange. You're just as unlikely to have problems with these if you do a drain and fill as if you ignored the original fluid in it.

Technically, Toyota WS fluid is the best choice because it is the only fluid certified by Toyota to meet their specifications. That said, you can definitely use Aisin WS or Idemitsu TLS-LV fluid. They're both, according to their manufacturers, made to meet or exceed WS fluid specifications and lots of people have had great success with all 3 fluids.
