Two days ago my stereo system stopped working. There's not volume at all. I press the AM/CD/TAPE/DISC button and nothing happens. I was playing a CD when it happened and now I can't even switch to FM with the steering wheel button. I have the non-nav system. Has this happened to anybody else?
Maybe your amp died? That is where I would start. The non-nav/non-ML system is actually a Pioneer system if I'm not mistaken. I don't know if you can get a new amp or if anyone services them like they do the ML amps.
I have the same non-nav/non-ML system though I upgraded my headunit a few years ago. I really wish I would have bypassed the factory amp at that point and used an after market amp similar to what happened in this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ll-w-pics.html
A bit of searching and I believe your (our) amp is part number 8628050330. This is available at $725 from Partsouq or from $1,506 from Bell Lexus. eBay has plenty of used ones for much less.
Please keep us posted. You could probably remove your stock amp and pop the cover... if there is capacitor damage, you should see it pretty quick.
Because you can't change the source it is most likely not the amp. Eject all the cds and see if can change source and if not disconnect battery for 10 minutes to reset system. If then you can change source and get audio but still not the cd then laser is bad in cd player

I did take off all the CD's and still nothing. I will disconnect the battery this weekend and update.
So the battery died and I replaced it last night and the radio still does not work. It just flashes when I push the power button. Looks like it might the amp? I thought only the ML systems had the amp lol.
Does it let you cycle between AM/FM/TAPE/CD? Does the CD changer let you load/unload CDs? Do you hear any hissing or static when you turn the volume all the way up?
I'd have to try and look at the service manual later to see if there is any further trouble shooting. Maybe the amp is on it's own fuse but I doubt it, though you might check the owner's manual and see.
If you fire the parts cannon at your car, it's really just the amp and the head unit. It might take some searching as I don't know if the plugs got changed from 01-03 to 04-06 and the non-nav/non-ML units are a bit on the rare side. The amp might be quicker to source and just buy from an eBay seller that accepts returns so it the problem persists after installing it, then just return it.

It doesn't let me cycle through any of the sources. I can load and unload CD's though. No noise at all.
As I said before if you can't change the sources it most likely is not the amp as the microprocessor for controlling that is in the head unit most likely. Others have replaced the amp with aftermarket without having to deal with source changing as that comes from head unit. It may be possible though that if the head unit can't see the amp it may not function. Without a full diagnosis it would be difficult to determine the right part to replace.
My CD player and radio (ML system with Nav) have not worked for some time now. My tape deck works fine as I am able to play all my favorite tunes through a tape adapter and my old ipod shuffle. I'm certain (in my case) that my amp is fine and assume that the radio and Cd player are not working. I have a local audio shop that told me if I find a used radio he'll put it in for me. Hard to find one that's not all beat up on the outside, and who knows for certain that it will work and how soon it will fail as mine did.
17+ years is a pretty good run for a stock cd player. I’d highly recommend getting a new Kenwood radio instead of messing with another oem one if you can
