(Advice/Help) 04 Ls430 with minor problems seeking wisdom.
Back from Alaska, took her to get basic servicing. While reconnecting my battery after returning I realized how much corrosion was on ym positive terminal. Cleaned it, connected it back up and uh MY CODES ARE GONE. since then I've driven around 500 miles and the codes haven't popped back unless there was a voltage problem. So I also just got a new terminal clamp. I'm realizing how much of a pain this could be electronically. I also had to change my license plate lights since they were blown. For some reason they refused to work with LEDs but worked fine with new incandescent bulbs. My trunk tail lights on the other hand are still being weird and depending on start up they are either full lit (like in the pic) correctly or dim or completely out. All in all I've reset everything and she runs great with the exception of low tire popping up 1 time since clearing everything.
I've ordered all my audio stuff and will see about how much it will be to get it done by a shop. Along with the stuff I acn replace and tighten up along the way. (Cup holders, arm rest console, temperature controls.) I also will plan to get a better battery and alternator.
Miscellaneous: I also got a dash cover and on the way are a bunch of small stuff to help the daily ability of the car. Youll see what I mean in the coming weeks.
without ML / NAV, the climate controls are separate from the radio system. However with ML / NAV the climate controls are baked into the display over the CANBUS.
You would need a radio that can control the climate specifically for this car. Otherwise I fear you will have no HVAC control with the aftermarket radio designed for non navigation model.
Best of luck!
If the auto shop reported the vehicle history, it should show here. Doesn’t have to be car dealership specific.
If it’s been serviced at lexus you can view their maintenance notes on their website if you register and put in your VIN
I damaged my front end and had to replace the bumper.
Changed the lenses on the headlights.
Went through a period of having the car at Lexus trying to figure out these lean codes.
Mark Levinson Amp died so I went full after market audio to the Teyes unit.
More minor things I've done:
Sc430Mods Throttle Commander installed
Teyes cc3 2K + Kicker system
BC coils (virtually stock height)
JDM Culture Seat Covers (WIP)
Witamats Double Layer Floor Mats
Lexus Logo Door Puddle Lights
I'll put up pictures soon too, but My question today is about how to remove the trunk liner to the subwoofer! The Shop refuses to drill into the metal to mount the sub and I'm tired of using the old sub mount that vibrates and ruins the sound.
Last pic was before the bumper change
