Sensor Killer?
About 4 years ago the right bank o2 gave a fault that was the sensor itself, not an engine issue. It was a beast to replace as the header had to be removed as the sensor was not going to budge without doing so.
My question.
Has anyone figured a way to override all engine fault, tire pressure faults etc.?
The fact that when the O2 sensor trips, it kills the trac control and fills my gauge cluster with cels?
Just checking if it is possible.
Thanks guys!
Doug
Not sure I understand what you are trying to achieve. The CEL and Fault Codes stored in the system are there for a reason, they notify that there is a problem somewhere in the car and force the car into Fail-Safe mode to prevent any further damage. A/F sensor is essential for proper operation of the engine, without it, you will spend a lot more in raw fuel being thrown out of the exhaust than on the sensor itself.
In short, if the problem that triggered the Fault Code was resolved, all you need to do is disconnect the battery terminal for a little while. If the problem is still there, however, there is no simple way to reset the codes, as it would defeat the whole reason behind their existence.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
