I threw the BS flag on this one....BUT
When I saw these new jumper systems that you could put in your jacket pocket I was a skeptic and decided to let someone else try them.
BUT about two months ago I had to call AAA for a jump start and guess what he used?? Worked fine, so I went out and bought a CHEAP one, less than $60 and have used it on three cars without charging it, yet, and it worked every time. Started the LS this morning with a dead battery that would not even light the dash

I have 6 cars. A low ebb from my heydays when I had 23. Oh, and I dont replace them, only one of the three was bad. They just dont get used enough.

Yup. We have a car that sits quite a bit, jumped it and went to the store and of course it was dead when I came back out. Set up my jumper cables and waited for a passerby. First guy I asked had one of those little boxes. “Yeah right” I thought. Those little things pack a punch! Started right up.
But, I’ll stick with tried and true jumper cables. I’ve seen the reports of these high powered batteries spontaneously combusting in various devices. I’m skeptical of a $60 box that holds enough juice to jump 3 cars

Get a dozen battery tenders? I used them once and they work well. It is a bit of work to route the wires from underneath but if you do not drive often I guess it is OK.
I have a jump pack that's probably 10 years old. About the size of a large battery and weighs almost as much. It's finally starting to fail, so when I replace it, I'll be buying one of those like Jim mentioned. Technology sure has changed!

Every time that you let a lead-acid battery go flat it damages the battery permanently which further reduces the maximum capacity of the battery.

If you have cars that sit for a long time without being used then you need to either remove the battery or else hook it up to a tender.
Tenders are a better idea as even a battery left on a shelf will self-discharge over a few months (hot climate) to a couple of years (cold climate).

Yea my ls battery died this winter, it was from 22 too. I thought it was hooked up to the tender but I guess some how when I closed the hood it might have moved the terminal clips. Battery was dead flat after a cold snap, couldn't even revive it with the charger. Luckily Costco has good warranty.
Not really because if the battery goes bad the trickle charger wont help it and you will still need a jump. The pocket jumpers work on a DEAD BATTERY. Once started the generato0r will keep- it running, but dont turn it off. After I jumped it I drove 10 miles to Walmart and when I came back out to the car it was dead again. The jumper box got it going so I could drive it into the garage. The mechanic said, t"urn off the engine so I can test it." I said "if I do, you will have to push it onto the ramp." I did and he did.
