Just did my '99 in approx 10 min. The trick, as many here have already stated, is to remove the old strut/ lift by taking out the ball stud while the strut is still attached. I propped my hood up for support while I removed them with a 12mm wrench. The Sachs lifts come with new studs that use a 13mm wrench. Once the new studs are in attach the struts using the little clips on each end. My hood is perfect again!

Would the struts you bought work on a 94 LS? I looked on Amazon but didn't find a pair cheaper than $30.

With the weather turning colder, it’s time to replace my hood struts. Anything special I need to know? Left and right the same? Any brands to avoid? Thanks.
