CEL & VSC Off (P1354)
Hello everyone, first time poster.
Im 19 and just bought my first car, a 1999 LS400. Picked it up with 186k on the odo and its a very clean car overall; I've named him lloyd, I think its a very fitting name for this car.
As I've been working out all the quirks, I've come across this P1354 code being thrown that just refuses to go away. Doing research on this forum I decided to tackle the most common problem, the OCV valve solenoids. First I cleaned the original ones with Mass Airflow Sensor cleaner and reinstalled them, it worked for about a day or so until the same code was thrown again. I decided to purchase a pair of new solenoids and installed them, same thing happened, worked for a while but eventually appeared again about a day later. I'm worried to the point where it either could be my computer or cam phasers. I really don't feel like ripping apart my engine bay and serpentine belt, as Ive just gotten done replacing my valve cover gaskets. The last thing I'm going to try is an oil change, silly, but upon doing further research that code could show up if you have foreign metal in the oil or not the recommended SAE 5W-30. I'm in love with this car so far, any help would be really appreciated.

I worry that the OCV filter is badly clogged. It's not easy to access the filter since it is located under the cam shaft cap. One simple idea is to apply compressed air of 250kpa (36PSI) to the hole of the VVTi solenoid after removing it. This is aiming to blow back deposits accumulated there. This method is only for the confirmation and is the temporary fix because those deposits may block the filter again. Sometimes it works for weeks or months.
