Default Bluetooth

Per phone call to Lexus Customer service today the following phones and service providers work with the bluetooth in the Nav system: AT&T=Nokia 6310i & Sony Ericsson T68i; Cingular=Nokia 6310i; T-Mobile=Sony Ericsson T610. Has anyone tried using a more recent model phone? AT&T does not even list these models when you do a search at their web site for bluetooth phones and their salesman at the local store said these are old models--new ones are out now which are better! Will a new model such as the Sony Ericcson P800 or T616 work just as well? Anybody with any experience using the bluetooth phones other than the Nokia 6310i?

I don't quite understand. I thought Bluetooth is a standardized protocol that allows communications between devices to be model and platform-independent, even more so service provider-independent.
I think the phones specified by Lexus are just those they happen to have tested, and that all Bluetooth-compatible phones should work with the new LS430. I simply don't see a reason they don't.
