Default Telescopic steering motor removal (DELETE if possible)

My tilt works fine but the telescoping is all the way in and will only move a 1/16" and seems like it locks up. I was planning on removing the telescopic motor and ECU from my parts car. My manual is confusing me a bit and my question is; Does the whole steering column need to be removed and taken apart to get the telescopic motor out? I don't have much more time til I need to get rid of the parts car, plus my twisting ability and strength is limited now. I need the steering column in the car when they come get it so just tearing it apart is not an option. Any help is appreciated.

EDIT:
EDIT: nevermind, Either way I can't get it. I pulled the the lower panels off and dropped the column down as much as I could. I saw the motor but it looks like it's part of the column. That's as far as I'm going with it. Just bolted the column back in. I forgot what it's like to be all twisted under the dash. Seeing how there's no response yet, this can be deleted.
