Do you know where the fuse box is? Open and look inside the lid, usually there is a fuse map there.

Well I guess you could look up in posts or a member can post a picture of their fuse map (or from manual) for a 98-00 ls400. Assume it would be similar

The quickest way is to check all fuses using the method in the FAQ page but I'd rather think it is caused by a failed display unit judging from my past experience. I think I can fix it analyzing inside but it would be quicker to replace the unit finding a used working one since the unit is widely available these days.

I took a look at my notes and found this line I saved ages ago:

AC failed and blew the Bussman 15A fuse on the driver-side kick panel. I continued my journey to Orlando FL without AC and a blank-out LCD screen.

Observe the top row LCD displays. The clock works, but the temperature displays are both blank. As is the outside temperature reading that should be next to the clock. To me that suggests more than just the display having died - thoughts?

koreaucf20, were those working before the display died?

(also, thanks! I have Nav in my car and it's good to know there are OEM units available that work in the 2ndhand market)
