Default 1998 ls 400 low beam light problem

My low beam light adjustment is way off. Only shines about 50ft in front of me. How do I adjust? Also What is the recommended bulb?

See the attachment for instructions on how to adjust the aim.

The type of bulb depends on if your car has halogen or HID lighting. Halogen lighting uses a 9006 bulb. HID lighting uses a D2R bulb.

do you have HID or non-HID (halogen) headlights? halogen adjustment is below but if you have HID you also have auto leveling which have sensors and/or solenoids that can break or get stuck.

I have hid and noticed the lights don't self center

I would try cleaning your adjustment links on both the front and rear pass side arms to see if they’re sticking or damaged. Mine on my 99’ were hard to move, I unclipped them and cleaned the joints and they seem to function better now.

I honestly don't know what or where those are....

FYI: I don't have a headlamp adjustment message on dash either

Found this

This is also how my lights look. I notice the daytime running lights do adjust. But not head lights.

I just told you where they were. Look under your car for those plastic links and see if they're binding. Its obvious what they are if you just look. If you don't want to do the work, then just have a professional do it.

Not knowing where they are at and not wanting to look are not one in the same. That said I'm having the fan clutch swapped I asked them if they can.

yes he meant those sensors that reside on the suspension! typically the links can break preventing the auto adjustment from the headlight servo.
