Exclamation Help!! Starting issue!

My 1990 has a starting issue. Very rarely the car starts up real quick with no issues, but most of the time it starts very sluggish and it seems like the starter clunks. I have a new battery and haven't had a alternator issue yet. could it be the starter going out?
Also I had a few lights come on recently, the battery light, add oil light, add coolant light, rear bulb light out, and brake light come on.

If the starter is going out often one of the symptoms is that when the key is turned to start, it will click or there will be nothing from the starter.

Is it the starter that is sluggish or does the starter maintain constant RPM and it takes the car awhile to finally fire up?

Are you sure?
The starter is only related to 4 different electrical contacts. It is energized by those 4 and the ECU is totally not related to drive the starter.

What are those 4?
The ignition switch, the NSS, the starter relay and the solenoid contacts in the starter are them. The troubleshoot needs to find what is causing the problem among these 4.

Judging from the symptom "sluggish", I worry that the starter itself is failing. Those contacts in the solenoid tend to wear like this below. The battery side wears more than the load side and this causes sluggish problem when at the initial failing stage. It can be confirmed easily monitoring the current to the starter using a clump ampere meter or a current prove with an oscilloscope.
