How much for a 1990 LS 400?
I am debating on purchasing a 1990 LS 400 with blue cloth seats and 80,000 miles. They want $4000 for it. I'll test drive it this weekend and see how it looks. I think $4000 is too high for its age IMO. What do you guys think a reasonable offer is if in pristine condition?

As someone in Australia, here they range from 1000 aud to 8000aud.
For 6000 aus you can buy a good, low mileage, maintained example or you can buy a poor example from an idiot who thinks if the other guys is worth 6 k than his must be too.
If it is a good example, with service history, has all major things done like belts, and potential starter, 4000 USD is not totally unreasonable. Keep in mind that age is not an indication of price. You can pay a lot more for a car much older.

considering 90s are getting hard to find, and downright rare as hens teeth for a pristine well-maintained example, id say 4k is fair as youll probably have to pay a premium for a pristine luxury car that old. it better be REALLY nice tho. and loaded with all the toys. sounds like one you are looking at is as base as it gets...

It's the base trim. I'd assume the cloth interior is quieter than the leather version due to noise absorbtion. Wish it had the nachamichi system in it. Yes I am into audio as a hobby.

the cloth in those ls’s is so confortable to sit in , im also a big fan of the nakamichi sound system they put in those. Sounds so much nicer then the mark levinsons.

Just looked at the link, it's a very good looking car. Miles are considerably low and I some would prefer the cloth interior; it's one of the best quality cloth interiors you'll ever see or sit in.
You could offer $3200 and see if they'll meet in the middle around $3500. Then immediately remove those fender accents

I've noticed LS prices have gone up a lot. If the body and paint and interior are in top shape, that controls the price as well as miles. What options does it have? Cloth seats seem to last better than leather but, they make it kind of cheapy. No repainted parts?

Cloth seats are a lower trim option. Most often found on celsiors because no one in Japan wants leather in a humid climate.

Leather is a big part of the lexus style. It really comes down to what you prefer. If take a crown estate in cloth over leather any day of the year.

Last dealer visit was 19,000 miles. Its due for timing belt and waterpump.Ask for records.look on hood/engine and see if belt was done.Could also be due for all rubber suspension parts, age kills them. I wasnt impressed by the dark photos.Come on,this is 2018,what phone cant give a decent clear photo?
I would have it looked at by another dealer first.this could be a money pit.You need service records. Can you do all the labor yourself?
Not to be Debbie Downer, just dont want you to get into trouble possibly.
