Cellphone Dial Pad Sound When Turning On Ignition
A little background. 2000 LS400. I bought this car years ago and don't get to drive it daily, because I've bought a LS460 recently that I drive often. The battery was completely drained from sitting. I started it with my battery box and most things were normal except this cellphone keypad press noise coming from the dash when I turn the ignition switch on. I've never heard this before and it does it at every start now. There were no signs of there being a phone in the car when I bought it years ago. Has anyone experienced this or know of anyone who has? Just curious what it could be. Thanks.

Judging from your words,"The battery was completely drained from sitting", the very slow voltage drop was there. Stray electrons in C-MOS cells may be causing your problem. Why don't you try procedures 1 to 7 written here to reset completely. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ml#post9338445

its normal if the car originally came with the handset. all LS400s come factory wired for an analog cell phone that goes in the center console. the control box for the phone is in the trunk. sounds like yours was somehow activated.

Sounds like it could've been. Didn't see any evidence of a cell phone when I bought it years ago, so it's new to me. Definitely a cell phone noise though. Thanks for responding.
