Default Coolant Leak Question

Hi there, I have a coolant leak on my 97 LS400. The level in the coolant reservoir keeps dropping slowly so I have to top it off once every few weeks. There's no puddle of coolant on the ground so it's a small leak. This morning, I've popped the hood to look for the leak & I've found a suspected spot near the firewall (see photo below). I see the coolant residue, it's pretty dried but I believe that's where it leaks. Would like to know if this is a valve where the heater core is connected to & can it be repaired instead of buying a new one? Also, I see a cable attached to the right of this valve. Does anyone know how it works? Thank you

As you assume, it is a valve where the heater core is connected. I don't think it can be repaired. Replacing to a new one is the only way to go. The cable is driven by the servo motor which controls the room temperature.

I surfed the net & found out it's called HVAC Heater Control Valve & the p/n is 8724050050. Thanks Yamae.
