Hi

I’ve never had a aftermarket ECU before but I’m wanting to get some more
power and better driver ability, So a setup for the highway to cruise and a
performance/power setup also. So I’ve got an early model 1uz approximately
a 92 model with the stock auto gearbox/slugbox behind it.
I’m hoping to find an ECU that is also at a lower price but dose the job as
unfortunately just can’t afford anything more expensive.
If you guys could help me out and let me know what works and at a good price
I’d be very grateful.

Long ago there was a piggy back version but to find one now would be pretty tough outside the JDM. There wasn't much in terms of performance parts for these cars so the usual exhaust and intake mods were the easy options. My suggestion would be to make sure the ignition, sensors, vacuum lines, fuel delivery is in good shape and that is going to be attainable within the stock capabilities of the car.

Mate to be honest the 1uz is a great motor, but aftermarket support just is not really available at the moment. Your best best will to to find a used megasquirts south of 1k. There is a uy selling and installing them on the gold coast for 1500-1600. To get what you are looking for youd be beter getting a car with a 2jz installed.
