98 LS400 swapping navigation to non-nav headunit and hvac??
Hi,
I did a search and sounded like a few of you guys did the swap from navi to non-nav unit.
Thought it was going to be easy so I bought a non-nav unit off of ebay. Took everything apart and was reconnecting the wires/plugs and the plugs don't match up for the audio head unit.
Looked over both units and they are both Pioneer.
Anybody know what I need to do to get this working?
Below I attached the photos of the back.

Hiroshi12 wrote,"Only the factory wiring for the door speakers which had to be connected from under the passenger seat. Everything else was removed or bypassed".
Since he didn't do it himself and asked a professional, the detail of how wired was not reported.
I did it my self and succeeded to install a Toyota's newer navi unit making a home made adapter which was quite complicated but I couldn't drive the sub woofer nor to drive other speakers well enough because of the impedance problem.

Anybody know where I can get a wiring harness Plug for the OEM pioneer premium sound radio? Found some of the wiring diagrams for the navi and non-navi 98 ls400.
Looks like i'll need to splice some wires but need the right harness plug first.

You need an entirely different dash wiring harness from a vehicle originally equipped with Pioneer radio...
Was the original.system a Nakamichi??
I ask because I belive the NAV or touchscreen system was paired with Nakamichi sound system....
If so then you will need to take extra steps for plug-and-play.
Ask dealer to run your VIN so you know what you have...
