Ls400 engine mount internal view
Toyota designed a liquid-filled engine mount to more thoroughly dampen engine NVH (noise, vibration and harmonics) in the LS400
A series of low-cost replacement engine mounts have hit the market catering to unsuspecting consumers.
Unfortunately these aftermarket engine mounts are seriously deficient from a design standpoint. ..as they are simply chunks of solid rubber of unknown composition and durometer which noticeably degrades isolation of chassis from engine.
This is not worth the meager costs savings for components that are a challenge to replace in the first place.
A cutaway side view of OEM Lexus motor mount depicting internal liquid filled chambers...almost like a shock absorber and engine mount all in one.
Fix your car right the first time by avoiding aftermarket crap.

Actual images of inside of oem motor mounts
Aftermarket motor mounts are solid chunks of rubber and poorly reduce NVH...
OEM mounts are made of 2 outer pieces of metal crimped together and filled with fluid.
The fluid is reddish brown and has the viscosity of water.
Cutting both sides of the upper metal piece allow separation.
There is a metal piece inside that is surrounded by the fluid. There is one port cut into the side. Here you can see the fluid cavity.
After disassembly Both ends of the mount are connected externally with metal and solid rubber.
