I'd say take it for a LONG test drive, floor it, run it up to 90-100mph. If it runs/drives excellent, I would buy it. Also be sure to look under it real good for rust, I know you said it was a Florida car, but people up North will say all kinds of things to make it sound like it was never driven up there. Its a good color combo as well, personally I love the pearl white on tan leather.

if it was driven up here in winter it was only for 1-2 seasons. All the Lexus service records online say Florida up until 2014-2015.

He said he can put it on the lift so I can see underneath it. Hopefully, it's a clean one

Looks pretty good. I never cared for a white car, but that's just me. It's good that it doesn't have air suspension. (No worry in the future)
Also, it doesn't have traction control if that matters to you when you drive in the snow. I always have mine off b/c in snow I steer with the back tires. It might not have heated seats either, being a southern car. Bring a very good flashlight for when you look at it on the lift. Look waaayyy up inside everywhere. Good luck.

Way overpriced for 1994, in my opinion, you can find a nice 1998-2000 for the money, maybe even 2001-2003, just keep looking.

Agree! 98-2000 is the way to go. 5 speed transmission make for a quicker car, less ECU issues than previous generations, better interiors; those early model seats are a bit firm. And yeah, for that $ you could get a newer 430...To each their own though! Good luck

Just bought the Carfax unlimited reports for the next 3 months and ran the LS400 car. Looks like there might have been an odometer rollback on it. Things just dont line up. Prob gonna hold back on this one for a bit Ugh. So frustrating. Looking at this LS430 tomorrow. 2 owner car. I keep going back between the 400 and 430

$6700 is insane for a 94 unless its got 30k miles on it and is in absolute pristine time capsule condition.
I live in Orlando. hurricanes are very rare here contrary to popular belief. ive been here my whole life and only saw 1 major storm and flooding really isn't an issue here either.
btw, I work at that dealership, in the service dept. I take note of whenever I see a really nice 1st gen Ls400 pass through. I might actually remember the car. is it blue or black by any chance?

charley was one hell of a storm. but storms like that happen once a generation here in Orlando. its far inland enough that it has to be one hell of a storm to do any real damage. before charley the last real hurricane to hot Orlando was donna way back in 1960. charley was the first major storm to hit Orlando in almost 50 years. I lived in one of the old neighborhoods downtown at the time full of 100 year old houses. what caused the most damage in that storm were old huge oak trees falling everywhere that had never seen 100+ mile an hour winds. it practically too out the entire power grid in central florida. it was absolutely insane to see downtown Orlando and all of its large buildings completely dark. it was an event ill never forget that's for sure. I actually lost a car in charley. at the time I had a 1990 LS400 and a 92 buick roadmaster. I parked my Ls400 under a highway overpass but left the buick on the curb in front of my house. the wind with debris was so intense it cracked the back window and eroded some of the paint on the LS. the buick got crushed by a tree. also lost some shingles and a few windows got blown out of my house. there was a week of absolute powerless anarchy. no electric, no way to get gas, couldn't withdrawl $ from banks, no phones cause all the lines were down and no cell service cause all the towers were damaged. the only radio station that managed to stay online during and after the storm was what was then 96.5 WHTQ classic rock station. driving through obliterated dark neighborhoods with great whites "rock me" playing over the radio is something ill never forget.

but. flooding wasn't really an issue in charley. some areas had some but it wasn't terrible. maybe a few inches on the ground. that was about it. the main reason we DIDNT get serious flooding was because charley although a powerful cat 4 storm, was small and very fast moving. that's what saved us. I know donna was as powerful, it was larger, and much slower moving and Orlando was HEAVILY flooded in it. atleast the suburbs at that time were, and the city didn't have as good of infrastructure and drainage back then as it does now. hurricane matthew was a horrifically close call. there was a brief time when it was headed right for us. it would have been a life changing event for central florida like Andrew was for Miami. and unlike south florida which can handle severe storms like that, Orlando is not prepared for an event like that because we are 50 miles inland, and the damage would be absolutely catastrophic......

The car was actually taken to Daytona Toyota.

But since you work in the service dept. Maybe you can help me? Here is the car http://maxcysales.com/22145/1994-Lexus-LS-400-Base

On the carfax it had 57,000 miles on 3/2012, Then 83,000 miles on 1/2013, Then it got bumped down to 50,000 miles two months later once it was brought to Ohio??? I called the guy out on it and he said they had some problems with the dash and had it rebuilt from some guy in California and had the EXACT MILEAGE added back on. So he is telling me the Carfax is wrong?. So many red flags on this one. I bet the car has close to 100k miles on it and hes trying to pawn it off like a low mileage vehicle. My buddy who is a mechanic says it happens alot.

after looking at the photos I don't remember seeing it here so It must have slipped under my radar cause whenever I see a time capsule car I take note of it. looking at the photos though.. wow. its BEAUTIFUL for how old it is. one thing you may want to check to see if it really is a florida car originally is the national service database. anything that was ever done to the car at a dealership will show up on its record. go to lexusdrivers.com create an account punch in VIN and view service history. it will take you all the way back to when it came off the truck. this one is in about the same condition my 95 was when I got it. hard to find them that clean anymore.

I bought my car in Orlando but it lived in south florida almost 15 years before I bought it, however, it spent the first 6 years of its life in the rust belt. when I got the car a few years agoit was perfect under and over, but even though it has been in florida for over a decade, rust is beginning to develop pretty fast. so just because its a "florida" car doesn't mean that's where its life started, and it only takes a few northern winters and owners that don't spray the salt off the cars before there is irreversible damage that can pop up 15+ years down the road like whats happening to my car now..

I will echo what others have said here. take it on a serious test drive. let it idle for 15 mins with the AC on full blast and watch for abnormal tempatures, drive it hard, get it up to 100 if you can and hang there for a minute or two. when I was on the hunt for my current LS400 I drove the cars I looked at hard, and it took 30+ different examples before I found the one that was right. infact the one I got, during the test drive I absolutely terrified the salesperson in. but im glad I drove them the way I did because it paid off! 4 years later its still a VERY solid car that's never let me down.
