Shift Lever stuck due to interlock
I have same issue on 95 ls400.
I checked brake switch & it's fine.
No brake lights out.
Lever does not get stuck in park.
Lever only get stuck in N from D to park.
Please help!
Yes i have been using the over ride lock switch in the upper left hand side.
I need a perm fix.

Same issue for my new to me LS. I can force it past but it sounds awful like its going to break. I imagine there is a solenoid and I need to dive in there to see what moves and what doesn't.
It didn't happen when I test drove it but I have had intermittent issues and now it seems permanent.

just off the top of my head, perhaps it's a safety interlock that stops the stick in N, to be sure that the car is fully stopped, before allowing travel through r to p? i've noticed, i'm used to being able to slam other cars (not my 97 ls400) directly into park from drive, and this one, always stops at neutral, then i jog again and it goes on into park..
