Default Shift lock

I have a 1990 LS 400 with 151k miles on it. I noticed lately that I can't shift out of park without using the manual override. And a few days ago, my cruise control went berserk when I used the brake to disengage it. Finally today I was almost rear ended. As it turns out my brake lights all don't work. . . it seems as if these are all probably linked to the brake light switch thingie. The fuses check out ok, so I'm wondering if any of you Gods out there, yes you are all car Gods, have had any experience with this? If not it's a good idea to keep an eye out for this problem because it seems that LS's seem to have similar problems.

No doubt in my mind that you have a bad Brake Pressure Switch , it's not any of your fuses which you found out.
Replace it and you'll be good to go.
