Default LS400 vs Jeep Compass

Well... I was driving home Monday night going down a two lane road going about 30-35. This lady in a Jeep Compass was stopped at a stop sign leaving Wal-Mart trying to turn left. Well she was stopped until I drove by... I guess she just stopped looking or I dont know, but she drove straight forward and directly into the side of my car. I was on the horn, slammed on the brakes, and swerved into the other lane, but that didn't help much. This was the car before....

and this was after

Window smashed out, fender badly bent, door is just smashed, the floor buckled and came into the cabin a couple inches... I got an estimate yesterday and it came out to $7300 which means this girl is totaled.... Luckily nobody was hurt, but I'm gonna miss her. It was manufactured in 10/89, #595 out of the factory. A real classic...

Oh yeah, and her car just had some paint scratches on the front bumper and nothing else

Well if you were into high riders instead of low riders, she would have gone right under and out the other side.

That sucks. My mom did the same thing with her accord to an older 5 series that was hooked up similar to yours -- lowered, rims, ect. The bimmer was probably totaled too including a broken wheel... and pretty much all I had to do to fix my mom's accord was slap a freshly painted bumper and grille on.

Glad your alright. You are right, that car is totaled. Get all your receipts and parts list and costs ready as well as comps. It really sucks when one of these cars gets totaled because on paper the value is not there but in reality with all the parts and time put into them they try to screw you. Good luck with the insurance company.

Ouch...glad you are ok. If you have some good body shop connections and REALLY want this car, it can be fixed. Generally, this would be a motivator to move on. Sad to see them go this way.

Yeah, I'm gonna move on... I got some plans I've been thinking about (boosted camry?) but it still sucks, especially since I've only had it since January

I don't like to see that happen to anyone. I've been there and hit about the same way years ago.
It was a car that seemed destined for the junk yard, the day I spilled hydrogen peroxide on the floor and didn't know it till days later when it messed up the carpet I just somehow after that figured it would get messed up and be a junker. And it wasn't too long after it got hit on the side from a woman turning into me, then months later it was totaled sitting in a parking lot with me not in it. No not an LS some other make it was new and only about 5 months old.

My car before the LS was a camry. I had it built and bored out N/A build they can be fun and for sure unique if you know how to massage the engines in the right places. It breaks necks with the WTF look all the time
