Maybe a rubber bushing or mount is worn so bad something metal is touching the body or sub frame to feed in the noise, check things real good.
Also alignment could be real bad causing tires to scrub and make extra noise.
My '99LS got a bit loud some time ago at high speeds - 70mph and over. It is sort of low pitch humming backgroun noise. Could rear wheel bearing make such noise? The has almost 200K miles, bearings have never been replaced/serviced.
I have two sets of tires an it seems to make this noise with both 16" and 18" tires. I cannot hear anything at lower speeds.
I run my 99 up to 110, and it is quiet to me... at 196k but fear stops me at 110...
Billy, I know how quiet it should be, I've taken mine 135mph years ago, it was very quiet, something happened over the years, I will try to find out what...

billy d gettin 'er done... having an LS must be awesome in texas, these northeast roads are way crappier i bet with way more places for a cop to hide and fewer long straights
to address OP, maybe check all your weather stripping? after all these years i'm sure its bound to have deteriorated slightly
Old thread, but I wanted to let you know that my "road noise" 99LS was a bad right rear wheel bearing. When it started, I could only hear it at high speeds, later I could hear it even at not so high speeds. I sat in rear seat as my wife drove and I could hear it was coming from right rear.
Replaced both rear wheel bearings.
Thanks for posting your solution. Same happened to my parents 2001 LS430...loud noise coming from the rear wheel bearing. Not sure what is causing these things to go out. But glad you got it fixed.
