Hi guys, first post! So I have a 96 LS400 that I am trying to replace the front speakers on. I bought Kenwood KFC-1665S speakers as on crutchfield it said they would work with "minor alteration". So I am wondering how I would go about installing these. Is it just drilling holes or do I need to actually cut the speaker box?
Also, do I need to cut the wires connected to the old speakers or can I just pry off the connectors?
Lastly, the old pioneer speakers have 4 wires and these new ones only have two. How do I hook this up (sorry if this is a dumb question)?
To do the door speakers you have to remove the inside door panel, this is for a gen1 but should be similar. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/body/fdoorpanel.html
Don't drill any holes in the car parts try to figure a way around doing that, like making small brackets etc. Don't cut any wires for the car, make adapters to plug into existing plugs.
Those door speaker screens or grills are part of the door panel and will not come off without goofing things up.

Okay thanks, I already have the door panel off and the speaker box in my hand. But I am not sure how to proceed with the wires.
Thanks for those links, but I haven't been able to find anything about the 4 connectors versus 2 like the second thread has. I think that is my main problem now
