Default Please help -stuttering, loss power, stalls

I am broke down in Albuquerque, NM. was headed home to north central ca. when my ls400 cut out on the hwy. it turns over but doesn't start was losing power on my way. It would surge then sputter then run fine for about 50-100 mi. then repeats until it stalled out and wouldn't start again. I'm in the Werner drop yard by the TA truck stop. The only thing is I only have $100 left. Can any one help.

What can I do for you from Japan?
Do you have a paper clip or something which can make a short circuit of 2 test points at the DIAG connector?
Make a short circuit between E1 and TE1 or E1 and Tc depending on your car and read the fault code.
You also need to inform us the model year of your LS400 at least.

Default Help

I am not a mechanic and know nothing about cars. It's a 91 ls400 v8 that's all I know. When trying to figure it out I have read that a new ecu will cost $2400 of which I don't have. And if its the pump I am stuck in a town I know nothing about and my dogs are with me so how do I fix it. Yes I'm rambling please forgive my frustrations.

Default Me again

Also I only have very minimal tools so if there's someone in Albuquerque that's with this site that could help me either move my car to an outer part of town wher I won't get into trouble for staying in my car and trying to get it fixed at the same time that would be great. I will pay a what I can from the few funds I have. Here's my cell six three six six3 8 7879 it's a Missouri number I was there for 7 months. Now I'm trying to get home to Jamestown, ca.

Since you are accessing the Net, it may be possible to see the page below. Read the page and read the code first.

It's 20 minutes after the midnight and I have to sleep soon now.

I had the same problem when I first bought my LS.. the problem was the ignition coils.. the wiring was getting spliced by the moving belts.. have a Lexus dealer check it.. or if you want a reputable car repair shop.. (Autoclub certified).. hope that helps..

It could be this, and not all in order of the cause.
Cam or crank sensors. Fuel pump related. And some have said a fuel pump relay fixed problems like that.
It could be a relay problem like for electronic fuel injection. I could be simple like bad fuel or a fuel restriction.
$100 probably wouldn't have got you home even if it didn't break down, and since your not a mechanic sort your going to need some help and maybe some parts too. And let us know what the problem was if its found.
