all battery terminals are the same size. you should be able to find them easily as they are plenty of generic ones out there that should work.

so no lights at all, not even the dome light? parking lights?

absolutely nothing. no headlights, no automatic locks, no power windows, no power seats, no click when key is turned. zilch.

Thats actually a good thing. Should be easy to find. It is most likely a cable, ground, or fuse, provided the battery is really good.

Are you sure? What about the galvanic corrosion?
I have seen many owners having problems without knowing the fact. Don't select terminals that use dissimilar metals with the battery post.

good thought, but it would be hard to find a terminal clamp of the same metal since i don't think they specify it on the packaging. i would just get the regular silver metallic clamps.

i see terminals that are gold coated. would that be a bad idea?

Sorry to say but it is a bad idea which may cause 0.7V of the voltage difference and causes galvanic corrosion shortly. It would be best if the post was also the Gold or Rhodium plated on silver-plated copper. See below and you will see how dangerous it is to use the one you showed.

We all thank you Yamae. And please if any of us say the wrong thing I'm sure we all would want you to correct us. Your one of the important people that comes here and you have offered some very helpful information.


I reread the replies and mention of dissimilar metals from battery post. Its going to happen some place. What I mean is if it is a lead clamp the wire in it will be copper. And as far as I know my factory terminal clamps are made from steel, though they maybe coated with something. I guess with this I am asking a question and not anything else with it.
