92 ls400 not shifting when flooring it
So i recently picked up a 92 ls400. On the way home from a stoplight i went to floor it. Thr revs go up fine but when it gets to 5000ish it just bounces limiter and wont shift untill i let off. I put it in power shifting and and did it and it went higher but it did the same thing. The trac light is on so idk if that has anything to do with it. Anyone ever hear of this?

The car has 233k on it. Im not to sure how recently it has been changed but i know it is not original. Currently i am just test driving it for the weekend. I would be trading my 99es300 with 200k for it. The guy doesn't like rwd and i dont like fwd lol

It shifts perfect normally and like if i let off a bit before it hits limiter its ok. Also noticed if i go to launch it it hesitates a bit. I dont know of that is related

What is the color of the tranny fluid? That indicates potential problems. With any potential car purchase the fluids are a good indicator of how well maintained the owner kept it. How is the engine oil color? Brake fluid color? Seat wear...etc. Not inspecting these is asking for a load of wallet expenses as the car beings to show symptoms of problems.
If the tranny fluid is black, you may get off easy with a fluid drain. If it needs more, shift solenoids and tranny pan cleaning. Depedning what is in the pan during cleaning may be the next indicator.
The 90-97 are due for the ECU capacitor fix. There will be other symptoms as well if this is the case. Do a thorough check that the car working as expected. The good thing is most of the maintenance has been done and there are many discussions here to help.
A '92 unless it has received regular maintenance is going to need some TLC, a sufficiently deep wallet and you'll get your hands dirty.
