Hey I have a 1992 ls400 300k miles runs beautiful but sometimes Itll randomly from a dead stop I'll accelerate then when it shifts into 2nd it feels like it caught but the rpm won't go past 2k but if I manually put it into 2nd its fine then put it back into drive it'll goto 3rd an then 4th what could this be all fluids are good no check engine light the OD light does flash a few times when this does happen but goes away after it doesn't do it anymore.

what do you mean by all fluids are good? when was the last time the fluid was changed? With that many miles maybe something is just worn.

That 2K RPM limit is one of the symptoms of ECU issues. Aside from shifting, does the car have any other problems? When you start the car up do the dash lights come on?
