Arrow Engine cable / Line got cut while driving

Hi there guys, I'm hoping you can help me.

Today while driving I stopped at a set of lights the engine went super low on idle and stalled out. So I quickly started it up again and drove it home.

When I got it home it was idling all funny, much below 1,000 rpm. The engine is quite a bit louder and it almost sounds like a lumpy V8 there is also quite a bit of vibration.

So I looked around for the problem at first I thought it was the throttle body but I soon found this. May as well let the picture speak for itself.

I am a noob when it comes to engines and I don't even know what this line is, it's coming straight off the centre of the engine (please don't laugh at me ) I imange the other half of the line has fallen down the side of the engine below the air intake somewhere, how do I go about fixing / finding this?

it's a vacuum leak. there should be a nipple on the intake tube that it should attach to.

Question

Hey pure drifter I found the nipple and it instantly fixed the issue when I connected it back up -duh- I'm such a dunce.

But I will say the connection is a bit loose and it might happen over and over again, I don't know if originally it had a clamp holding it in place or what. Should I be looking for a new clamp to buy? Or maybe just electrical tape?

welcome to the club, and dont put yourself down, you cant be a dunce, you own a Lexus... and you might see if a clamp was ever on it by seeing an impression in the tube. (by the way, where are you) it is a good idea to let others know your make and model in your post or personal data... we can help you more that way..
good luck..post a photo for us..

yes there should be a clamp. just measure the tube diameter and go to your local autoparts store and buy one.

Hey there thanks for the welcome, I can't see any impression on the tube but I'm going to get one anyway just for peace of mind.

My car is a first gen Toyota Celsior imported from Japan so it has the Air Suspension. I bought it about a month back my previous car was a 1987 Toyota Century.

Here is a picture of the Celsior, it's got the Lexus badges

Thanks for the help guys.

god damn... a V12 century is something i'd really like to get my hands on... the interior is incredibly reminiscent of the LS 400, only it's apparent the level of luxury is EVEN higher. typical japanese keeping the best car for themselves and only making it in right hand drive

the '87 Century that OP owns has a 4.0L 5V-EU- V8.
The V-series of toyota V8s were the predecessor to the UZ series that debuted in the LS400/Celsior.

the GZ V12 was not dropped into the Century until '97.
