I bought this car 2 days ago and for the last 2 days it cranked fine. Today when I got in it the battery was completly dead. I was able to jump it off fairly easy and it has stopped and cranked several times today. Sitting as long as almost 3 hours. Is the battery dead? or did I just leave a light on somewhere and ran it out temporarily. I checked everything and nothing was on??? The door light doesn't work when I open the door and leave it on door. If I turn it ON it then comes on?

Anyway problem now is that my security light stays on. No matter if I am in it, out of it, locked unlocked, driving ect... Just stays on constantly. Also wants to keep locking the doors as if I pressed unlock and then didn't open the door. You know how after 30 seconds it will relock it. Now it does it no matter what.

Bad part is I only have 1 key, I plan on getting another so any advice would be great. Do I have to reset the security system after I jump it off? Is it possible to turn security off completly?

Also, most cars the alarm will go off if you try to jump the battery, this one didn't.

 

I had a similar problem in my former 99 GS400. The dealer ended up replacing the driver's door lock actuator (I think that's what it was called) and the problem was solved. You may need the same fix.

 

Well, I was wrong it is not the security light. It is the light between the remoteless entry switch and side viewer adjustments? I only have a 94 LS manual and it doesn't show anything there. This is a 93 LS so can anybody tell me what this light is? It stays on constantly and is running my battery down!!

Again, with all of the issues you mentioned earlier, it is more than likely the door lock actuator that needs to be replaced.
