Default Rare Clear Taillight owner's; check in. Post Pics.

I was wanting to kind of get an idea of who and any ls owners have the rare Clear Taillights. I have seen quite a few clears being ran on the ucf10s, and maybe one other person besides me running them on the ucf20. Please post your pics!

Here is a pic of mine on my 97. I put the black pinstripes on to break up all the white and to accent the color of the car.

I want to preface this post by saying I don't have any pics and that I hate anyone who has all clear tails.. (I'm so jealous )

I like how u switched up the monotony of the all clear tails with the pinstripes. Makes it look much more OEM when compared to their absence.

I also found some all clear tails for a ucf20 ~MC (unfortunately, for me) for $275 used. They are not mine, but I figured I would help someone who was looking.

they're mainly rare because they:
1- aren't legal in most US states and the EU (lack of red reflector)
2- are a VERY specific look

they're pretty readily available if you know where to look however.

i got a set from japan, came brand new via @finalstageparts on ig! great guys to work with to get those rare parts. the set came with red bulbs, but they turned pink after two days so i opted for red LED replacements. the light is much more prominent with red color and ignites super quick! alas i have that "tail light out" idiot light on my dash as a consequence...

to make it more legal, especially here in cali, i placed red DOT reflector stickers on my bumper. i copied the land rover reflectors to get the same sizes.

since my car is white, i also opted to tint them to break up the color a bit. 3M smoke tint overlay was used done by don nguyen.

I've never been a fan...
It's a really hard look to pull off and looks bland and flavorless when not done right. Sort of that "I think you forgot something, bro" type of look.

Timmy, I always thought a nice set of smoked RCR's or smoked all reds would have looked pimp on your ride.
Smoked looks ok, but kinda looks like hose old Hella tails in goofy colours you could get of Golfs/Jettas around 97-03

very hard to pull off i agree. i just wanted to give it a shot since i've been wanting a set for awhile (i believe we are all entitled to one, and only one, rice mod ). it does look best with darker colored cars which is why i tinted them.

i was actually going for that hella tail light look, so mission accomplished lol! had a set on my MKIV golf, loved them.

PD, I've been thinking of doing that with mine. Time to change it up a bit.

Lol, but you didn't tint them the "scope green," "wash-puff blue" or the "salmon pink" colours that didn't really match anything, like Hella did!

Did someone call me? Anywho, Central PINE recently came across a set for the 98-00, and I liked the look of them far better:

Note the actual crystal clear lens, as opposed to the "bleached" look of the previous-gen clear lenses.

I hope you guys don't have troubles with aftermarket clear tail lights.

Toyota does extensive tests for genuine parts using different equipments to apply extra UV, extra IR, heat-shock, heat-cycle, pressurized water, extra voltage and many others.

Those aftermarket one tends to fail quickly leaking, becoming yellowish, cracked and etc. Sometimes even the trunk becomes a pond. No wonder without those strict tests.
