Soon to be new-to-me LS owner
Hi All,
New to the forum, though I have owned a '97 LX450 for 12 years now.
Next week, I will be the proud owner of a 1993 Lexus LS400. I always loved the first-gen cars, and this one is a cream-puff. White/gray two-tone exterior, black interior, 81k mi, timing belt already done, well maintained according to Lexus maintenance history. And yes, already has replaced power steering pump, steering rack, alternator, valve cover gaskets, antenna, gauge cluster lighting, and climate control gauges and power seats work (I've done my reading).
I do have a question. The only negative about this car for me is that it comes with the chrome version of the factory 9-spoke wheels. I prefer the factory silver (non-chrome) version. I'd be interested to hear forum opinions on the best way for me to do an exchange on these (chrome for non-chrome of the same type). Thanks for any help you can provide!

Welcome aboard! And i demand pictures of the LX450!
I flirted with getting one of those to replace my 89' Landcruiser last year, but there weren't any good examples around at the time and I bought a GX470.

Hi All,
Thanks for the welcome!
SRMLS- I will checkout LA wheel about an exchange.
As for my LX, I got the '97 LX (last year of the old and best body style) certified used in 2002, with 35k mi. on her. This was right after owning a '93 Landcruiser, and the two are closer than any Toyota/Lexus twins of that time period, IMHO. The LX is now at 135k and modded to the hilt into the offroad vehicle she is (and used that way when I have the time!) This is a glamour-shot about midway through the mods (including tires, removal of running boards, addition of mudflaps, and repainting the gray cladding to match the black body). It now has an ARB winch bar (awaiting winch), 2.5" lift, and lots, lots more. More to come.

That is a nice "80" Moving2!
THe '97 was the best year. You must have been jazzed to find one that nice, even though it was quite a while ago now.
I would still like to own one.
