'95 LS400 - CD Change went bad
My CD changer won't work anymore in my LS400. Is there any way I can buy a OEM changer and install it myself? One mechanic told me that you have to reset some security features after changing a part of the audio system. I would like to be able to just buy an OEM changer and swap it out with my broken one. Thanks!

Cool, thanks a lot. I checked www.lexus-parts.com and the earliest changer they have is for a '98 model. You wouldn't happen to know if that would work, would you? Thanks again!
I have a the Lexus factory 12 Disc Nakamichi Changer that came out of my 1993 GS 300, which should work for yours as well, my cousin has a 1993-1995 (not sure) SC 400 with Nakamichi and it used the same changer. I believe the Nakamichi units were pretty much universal. Rare too because they were an expensive option. A long time ago i priced what the individual units were at the dealer. Whew! Head unit was in the neighborhood of $1200 Amp $970 Changer $1000 Subwoofer $545 (they are proud of these)
Anyway, my changer is in good shape and has been on the shelf for years since i changed over my entire system. However i spent over $5000
Let me know if you want it i'll give you a great price!

No good if it's a 12 disc changer. It's not going to fit a 95 LS becuase it's a 6 disc changer. With the 2nd generation LS the cd changers where no longer mounted in the trunk but instead they were mounted in the dash above the glove box.
He might be able to use it but he would have to mount it in the trunk and run new wires. I think he's looking for a direct replacement.

Thank you for the offer 007. Sharp-LS96 is right, my changer is glove-box mounted and can only fit a 6-cd changer. I'd much rather prefer a direct replacement, so I can do the install myself. I'm not the best with running wires in a car and changing major things out (like a headunit). Although the way it seems, the only way I'm going to get a changer again is by getting a new head unit and changer

Oh okay... i didn't know.
Good Luck!!
Try taking the changer to a shop that repairs radios.. look in phone book or call a car stereo shop for a lead. You should be able to get it repaired much cheaper than replacing. But get a warranty, refurbished electronics are often iffy..but at least you are aware of your options.
