Cool No electrical power whatsoever

Hi All,

I have a 1995 LS 400 which ran perfectly yesterday, parked it last night and went out today to start and nothing, not even a little bit of power anywhere. The car is completely dead, no lights, no sounds, nothing works at all. There was not hint of anything wrong last night.. just like dead weight today.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated..

I already checked battery cables and they are tight and fine, will be testing battery for juice once my brother drops off my tester

Thanks
Chris

this will be an easy fix, either battery, battery connections or a main fuse or fusible link or ground strap

nothing else can cause a complete power loss

I checked the battery connections and they are ok

Where are the fusible links and the main fuse compartment on this car?

fairly new owner being this is my first lexus or Toyota.

fusible links and main fuses are next to battery in a big black box

additional small fuses (not the problem on your car) are near driver's left leg when sitting in car

my money is on the following scenario:

you have a power steering leak (20 year old car), the PS fluid has been dripping into the alternator for a while, and the alternator has not been charging the battery lately because the PS fluid ruined it.

this is extremely common on LS400, especially the year range you have!

There is nothing on the ground under where we park the car to indicate a leak of any type.. We did have a problem with the power antenna which i just took out the fuse for yesterday and thinking this was likely the problem, or my GF thinks she may have left the door ajar which would have left the light on.

Will find out today if one of those two are the culprits when i go to start the car today..lol
