Suspension and wheel fitment
My LS400 is in dire needs of some new wheels and tires. The wheels will update the looks of the car. I want the 2006 LS430 18" wheels. Chrome or painted. I'm having a problem finding a set used that are in decent condition.
I found these wheels on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171255533815...84.m1423.l2649
I don't know if they would fit with the offset and width, but the Ebay ad said they would. If I put 18" wheels on the LS400 there will be a ton of wheel gap that will require a slight drop. I have been searching to find information on dropping the LS400. I don't want to make the ride jarring and very stiff, but I would like to make it a bit more sporty.
Koni is having their shock/strut sale right now. Are Koni shocks any good for the LS400? What is the best method of dropping the car 1" all the way around?

^The 430 wheels need a spacer though, no? they also dont really look much better than stock LS 400 wheels IMO.
They say they fit but its most likely just that the bolt pattern is correct, of you read the fine print it says "spacers may be required".
If you run a tire with the same overall diameter as your current ones then the wheel gap would be the same, so no lowering needed.
Koni shocks/struts are very good, best way to drop the car is with new lowering springs.

I think the 18" LS430 wheels look great. The other LS430 wheels are ugly.
What about the wheels i posted that are from ebay.
I have a 1998 LS400. I did do a search, but I didn't get too much info other than if you want 1" or more drop then you need coilovers. Is there a site I could look at suspension options?

1998 Lexus LS400. I'm not just looking at the LS430 wheels. I am looking at those 18" wheels up in my original post. They are on ebay.
Are Koni Struts any good for these cars?
